Satya Yoga opened in 2015 to offer yoga to people from all walks of life. It is so important that we make yoga accessible to all people because yoga IS for all people. Anybody can practice and we are here for you. We love teaching yoga to people who think they can't do yoga.
A full class schedule featuring Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Yin yoga, Alignment-based yoga, Restorative classes, and relaxation and meditation classes. Our Karma Class has a special $5, $10, or $15 rate and that money goes back into the community to help support local organizations. In 2020 we are using this money to get a service dog for a local veteran through the WNYHeroes Pawsitive for heroes program.
Since Covid-19 hit in 2020 we, like everyone else on the planet had to adapt and we became a virtual studio. As I edit and write this we are still not open (physically) but will open our physical space when safe and when allowed. We will also be keeping our online/virtual studio open. Being online has been a learning experience for all of us and we are really exploring all the wonderful tools teaching online has given us. Being online has allowed our clients to take classes while on vacation or on a work trip, we have had many sisters, brothers, moms, dads, friends from all over the country join us for practice which is pretty cool.
Over the years we do our best to give back. Every year at the holidays we adopt a veteran family from WNYHeroes and fill their home with gifts. We have run donation classes for victims of hurricanes, Animal rescues, and other local organizations. 2016 we raise over one thousand dollars for The Himalayan Institutes humanitarian projects in Cameroon, helping build libraries, and going out into the public to teach the local villagers hygiene practices.
Meditation classes, Classes on Ayurveda (holistic/alternative health), and how to live your yoga through philosophy teachings. As a Yoga and Body Image Community Partner we are working to break down the barriers that keep many away from practicing yoga. Yoga doesn't care how old you are, how in or out of shape you are, what color you are, your socioeconomically background, and what size you are. Yoga is for all people period.
