Veteran Yoga, Fitness & Wellness Programs

Adaptive and accessible wellness programs for veterans and caregivers through movement, mindfulness, strength, and connection. In partnership with WNYHeroes, and Wisdon Farm.

Why Yoga, Meditation and fitness for Veterans?

Military service can place significant demands on both the body and mind, and those demands don't necessarily disappear when service ends. Yoga, movement, strength training, breathing practices, and intentional relaxation can offer practical ways to support mobility, balance, strength, sleep, stress management, and overall well-being.

At Satya Yoga, our veteran programs are designed specifically for the military community. Classes are accessible, adaptable, and welcoming to a wide range of ages, abilities, injuries, and fitness levels.

You do not need to be flexible.
You do not need to be in great shape.
And you definitely do not need to know anything about yoga before you arrive.

You just need to show up.

Veterans Yoga

Movement. Breath. Strength. A little more ease.

Saturday at 12:15 PM
Beginning September 12

This accessible yoga class offers veterans an opportunity to slow down, move their bodies, breathe, and reset.

Classes combine yoga movement, mobility, gentle strengthening, balance, breathing practices, stretching, and guided relaxation.

Everything can be adapted. Chairs and props are always available, and there is no expectation that everyone in the room will practice in the same way.

If getting onto the floor isn't comfortable, we work from a chair.

If something doesn't work for your body, we find another way.

If you haven't exercised in years, that's okay too.

There is no flexibility requirement and no previous yoga experience is necessary.

This complimentary program is reserved exclusively for U.S. military veterans. Registration is required.

What You May Gain From a Regular Practice

Yoga is more than stretching.

A consistent practice can help support:

  • Mobility and flexibility

  • Balance and coordination

  • Functional strength

  • Joint health and comfortable movement

  • Body awareness

  • Breathing efficiency

  • Relaxation and stress management

  • Better rest and sleep

  • The ability to slow down and recover

Perhaps most importantly, yoga gives us an opportunity to practice these skills before we need them in everyday life.

There is no perfect pose and no need to keep up with anyone else in the room.
