A simple way to get outside, move your body, and connect with others.

We’re excited to begin offering a free walking group through Satya Yoga. These walks are designed to be friendly, supportive, and approachable for real people who simply want to move a little more, enjoy some fresh air, and walk in good company.

Whether you already love walking or are just looking for an easy way to ease into more movement, you are welcome here.

Each walk begins and ends at the studio. Participants will need to register in advance, just as they would for any class, so we know who to expect.

First walk

Wednesday, April 29 at 5:15 PM
Approximately 1.1 miles
Estimated walking time: about 30–35 minutes

This evening walk is timed so that we return to the studio with enough time for anyone who would like to stay for the 6:00 PM Hatha Flow class.

Route

We will leave the studio and head along Main Street to the entrance of the town park. From there, we will take Cummings Drive through the park to the exit, then return to the studio via Main Street.

Because this walk takes place during the busier evening hours, this route was chosen with safety in mind, using sidewalks along Main Street.

Morning walk

Saturday, May 9 at 7:00 AM
Approximately 1.5 miles
Estimated walking time: about 40–45 minutes

This slightly longer morning walk is a peaceful way to begin the day and enjoy some easy movement before the studio opens up the rest of the morning.

Route

We will leave the studio and take Shisler Road to the bike path, which leads into the town park. From there, we will continue on Cummings Drive through the park, then return to the studio via Main Street.

Because this walk takes place early in the morning, this route feels more appropriate then. We’ll have to walk single file along Shisler since there are no sidewalks, and traffic at 7 am is usually pretty quiet.

What to expect

This is not a power walk, bootcamp, or race. It is simply a chance to move together.

Please come prepared with:

  • comfortable walking shoes

  • weather-appropriate clothing

  • water if you would like it

We will walk as a group at a comfortable, steady pace.

Registration

These walks are free, but registration is required.

Please sign up ahead of time just as you would for any class so we know who is joining us.

A note about the weather

Because these walks take place outdoors, plans may need to change in the event of poor weather. If a walk needs to be canceled or adjusted, registered participants will be notified.
